Default Head lights again! urg!!!

Ok so i've had ongoing head light problems. I thought I fixed everything I've got new motors and brass gears in both sides. For some reason, when my driver side light closes it goes down too far creating a gap. I've tried manually turning the motor both directions and trying it again but nothing. I still have this gap.... any ideas????

How much of a gap are you talking about? Ive had my share of problems with these things and at one point the drivers side headlight went down farther than the passenger side. But not by much. Well after I had removed the motors to fix my problem again and reinstalled them, it closed the way it was suppose to. Only thing I can come up with is take the motor out and reinstall it and see if it works. I know its a PITA but it might work. Maybe someone else will chime in with another suggestion.

Do a search in Tech Kelly. I remember seeing someone with the same problem there

I had multiple "experiences" with mine. After the brass gear repair I reassembled the linkage incorrectly (duh). Then after a month the bond line on the cover broke and allowed the gear to disengage. I fixed that by using stronger epoxy AND I made a metal backing plate that stays in place when the actuator is installed with its 3 mounting screws.
Thanks,
Gary

If its just a small gap its probably the cover thats out of alignment.

It fixes in place with torx screws (#15 I think). There are 2 on the back and one on each side.

Lift the hood and take out the two rear screws. Turn the headlights on and then back off the switch to park position. That turns off the headlights. You can then take out the screws at the side. Once you have the cover off you'll see that the screws fit into a white bracket. That bracket moves up and down and allows you to move the position of the cover by a fraction. Play around a little and you can raise and lower the height of the cover. Once you're happy fit the cover back on, sides first, lower the light and refit the rear screws.

Its trial and error but eventually you'll get a flush position.

I was just guessing that rather than an adjustment moving possibly one of the white plastic stops has either given up or fallen out. I'd show you a pic, but I don't know how. If this "guess" has any merit maybe someone will post. When does it all stop, right?
