Hey I just had bilstein shocks installed on my vette and though its a great improvement in handling, I can swear that it has RAISED my cars height maybe .5-.75" or something. (noticeable!). I was thinking about lowering the car a full inch (net .25-.5" drop from stock). I have no idea how to lower my car i know it has to do with the lowering bolts, but could you guys provide any insight to Bilstein shock experience with regards to ride height and lowering? What do I have to do to lower my car besides either adjust the current bolts or replace them with lowering bolts?
Thanks
-Ant
I measured mine before and after the Bilstein install, the car was lowered about an inch prior to the install. There was a negligable rise, <.25 inch. I believe that the Bilsteins allow you to lower more than the stock suspension.
shocks do not control ride height. After 3 weeks of driving the car with Bilstein sports, my ride height came back to normal. No change in ride height from my oem F55 shocks. it will take a while before it settles back down.
definitely lower it! these shocks are designed for lowered cars. mine is lowered on stock bolts. max out the front but leave bushings in there. lower the rear with only 2 threads exposed for a nice even stance.
