Default C5 fluid change.....

Just bought my vette last month and looking to change ALL the fluids. There was no owners manual so I'm looking to you all for advise. What fluids do you all recommend (The Best), by product name, amount, yada yada for the the following:

-Oil
-Tansmission (Auto)
-Rear end
-Brakes
-Coolant

I believe thats it, unless someone recommends a good washer fluid! Thanks to anyone for your comments.

What you need to do is get together with the Twin River Corvettes the local club in your town.

Or go down to Jacksonville and meet the Caro-Vettes

The meet every Saturday at 7pm @ Smithfileds BBQ.

Tell the Oz sent you.

Great group of guys ! A lot of military guys in the club.

Get an Owners Manual too. You can find them pretty inexpensively. Try E-Bay for example.

BTW, GM Optikleen windshield washer solvent (part#1051515) mixed with distilled water as per directions.

Oil - Royal Purple
Brake Fluid-Delco Supreme II DOT3
Power Steering - RP Max EZ PSteering Fluid
Diff RP - 75W90 - 2qts
Transmission - RP Synchromax - 4 qts

Is RP the best ? Depends who you ask and who has the biggest stick. Is it good? Yes!.
Is it good enough ? Yes!
Was it on sale ? Yes ! (and the nice color)
Would I switch to Ammsoil if they give me a good discount ? Yes ! Would I feel guilty ? No.....
Use RP or Amsoil, or any of the big brands and be happy.
#1 make sure you have enough oil in there, and change it often. All the oils in the same category are about the same.

Congrats on your new Vette! Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.

Here are my (clearly biased) recommendations:

Engine Oil: (6.5-7.0 quarts)
AMSOIL Series 2000 0w30
AMSOIL SAE Synthetic 5w30

Tranny Auto: (5.0 quarts drain/refill, 11.0 quarts total refill)
AMSOIL ATF

Diff: (1.7 quarts)
AMSOIL Severe Gear Extreme Pressure Synthetic 75w90
