Default F55 shock

Going to be installing a new set of mag ride shocks on an F55 03. Anything special to be done or just unplug, R&R shock and plug back in?

Looked thru the Service Manual and I didn't see anything specific about the F55 shocks. Just a very basic R&R. How many miles do you have on them? I have an '03 Anny and try to keep an eye on F55 posts.

Yes! Be very careful unplugging the shocks. Very easy to break connector. Not so bad removing, but be very careful with the new ones.

I think the car has around 70K. The owner complained about the bouncy ride. Sure nuff it seems to make several rebounds with the old push test. Seems awfull mushy to me. Several shops told him they needed replacement with a quote of $3200.

I got a full set of 3000 milers from a twin turbo C6 that couldn't be used due to parts conflict for $300. Gonna sit on 'em for eternity.

Just had the fronts replaced 98,000 on my 03....be real careful with the wireing it is a pain to fix if you screw it up...it will give you an error message on the dic service ride control....if you do good luck....

I'm sure you have checked, but it has happened many, many, many times before. There are no yellow shock stuffers still in the car are there? I know there were several AE's sold because of harsh ride, and it was the stuffers. Just a thought.

If they were still installed, you would see the yellow "tail" of the stuffer sticking out of the shock.

Got the shocks changed today. No problems. The car had two leaking oil. Compared the old to the new while off and the new ones were substantially stiffer. Car only has 40K. Thanks for everyones help.
