I purchased my first corvette two weeks ago and when I went to wash it this weekend I noticed there are a lot of little brown things stick in the paint makes it feel rough you can only see them from about a foot away so I didnt notice them when I bought the car.
They almost look like little rust flecks but I know this is impossible since the car is plastic and fiberglass, they come off with my fingernail but there are alot of them on the hood area, I looking for some advice on how to remove them and get the paint polished up is there a special wax I can use? I remember a while back there was a proscess called clay is this a good idea? Any and all suggestiong will be appreciated, thanks, Matt.
Go to the car care section in the general corvettes forum. There are tons of great posts on car care, and the use of a clay bar to remove surface contaminants. It sounds like you have some sort of crud stuck to the finish, which would be removed by a clay bar. However, you will need to polish the car afterward to remove any marring from the clay. Then you can apply a good sealer. Check out Bugman's site for some really good info on doing this stuff. He has done it all, and will answer your questions if you PM him. He's a great asset to the forum .
Thanks guys, Ill go get the clay kit and let you klnow how it came out!
Ralphyboy, Ill check out the bugman's sight, thanks you wouldnt have a link to it would you?
Thanks, Matt.
