LS2 timing chain direct swap?
ls2 timing chain direct swap on an ls6? or does it need something?

Yes, direct swap. As a matter of fact, if you order a new LS6 chain you will actually get the LS2 chain.

Yes, I believe so. LAPD is doing mine right now. I saw my old chain in a bag and they looked the same. I believe the LS2 is just a stronger chain.

ls2 chain is a tad bit wider then the stock ls1 gear set.. its not a perfect fit but it works.

Yes, both use dampener and you can retrofit on a LS2/6 but it is different part number and you may have to drill and tap. Some blocks had holes some didn't.
