Nitrous Question - Service Engine Light
My friend has a 97 Camaro, with a nitrous system. He keeps on having a problem with the service engine light comming on. He has checked out his o2 sensors and they test ok. He thinks the light typically comes on after he uses his nitrous. Someone has suggested to him that this situation may have something to do with whether the nitrous spray is in front or after the MAF sensor. (I don't have any info on how his nitrous is set up)
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Mordi
I had this problem on my car when I installed my dry kit. The first time I sprayed the PCM went into reduced power or limp mode. The fix was as easy as rotating the fogger to shoot towards the bottom of the airbox.
I had a friend with a 96 or 97 TA freeze his MAF while spraying. His car completely shutdown but started back up after it defrosted. Maybe your friend is getting a similarly negative effect.
