I have a 98 coupe. Went to take off yesterday and the DIC had a warning message "service column lock" and "pull key, wait 10 secs" does anyone know what they mean. Also, when I put it in gear and start to move the whole car just cuts off. What is my major malfunction goin on here? Thanks for any help

How could you be a member since 04' and not know about this? Or about the SEARCH function?
There are no details about your car in your profile, but you either have a column lock actuator failure, or if you have had the GM recall performed, a possible Harness K relay failure.
If the BCM thinks the column is locked, or it cannot determine the actuator position, it will send a signal to the PCM to cut the fuel when you drive over 2-3 mph. You need to do a little checking to determine if your car has had a recall performed on the column lock actuator for us to pinpoint the problem.
