Default Blackwing install help

Hi

I'm going to put the Blackwing on now and l need a little help. I have the directions but hit a wall on the first step. Sounds dumb but better safe then sorry.

1) can l turn off the underhood light even though l'm sure it will not kill the battery?

2) What is the proper way to unplug the MAF wires, do you have to squeeze it and pull or just pull. Or is there a certain way to do it.
Also where are the IAT sensor wires?

Thanks

Alan

Alan,

The MAF will unplug with either your fingers or a very small screwdriver. There is a little tab you lift and then gently pull on the plug. See the photo below. Unfortunately, the tab is hidden under the cover on the plug. There is also a plug on the underhood light, follow the cable and you will find it. Just unplug it. Not sure what year you have, the earlier models have the IAT in the air coupler.

Hi

I'm sorry l have a regular 02. On my connector there is a light gray tab that l pulled all the way back but it seems stuck. There is no dirt under my hood so that's not an issue.

But as long as the little tab is pulled back l will put some more elbow greese into it.

In the mean time l put a another coat of Zaino on and now l have to take it off.

But when l'm finished with taking the Zaino off l will recheck my computer.

Boy l thought it would take a whole 45 minutes to an hour going slow.

Thanks

Alan

The light under the hood will time out and go off by itself - at least it does on my 03.

The small grey tab is a lock for the MAF connector. Slide it back and it will come off completely. Then follow vettenuts instructions. When you push the tab down, the connector plug wil just pull off with a little tug.

Make sure all the new connections from the blackwing to the coupler and MAF are tight and don't leak.

Easy job.
