Funny Noise from Textraila ??
When I let the clutch out slowly it makes a squeeking/grinding noise. It seems to only do it in first and reverse. It really gets annoying. Does anyone know if this is normal. My brother had a 2001 vette with the Luk Pro Gold clutch in it and he said it made the same noise. Anyone know ? Thanks
Chris

Mine chatters some if you let it out too slow (car shakes a little). It should improve as the clutch gets broken in.

My tex makes a squealing/chirping occasionally, sounds almost like a dry bearing. I thought it was the throwout or pilot bearing going at first...but at this point it sounds like a nomal Tex thing. It also shudders if you let it up too slowly or between 900 and 1500rpm.
However, it never slips, loves being "beaten", and grabs perfectly with my ~420rwhp (~500crank hp). It's the nature of the beast, and I'll take it over having clutch problems any day!

hmm... now that I think about it I know the sound you're talking about right after you let it out... and it's normal.

hydraulics, pilot bearing, or slave needs shimmed if you turned the flywheel.

Hi Chris, it's normal.
If you broke it in, tear that clutch up this weekend!
Aftermarket clutches make noise, it is part of the game.

Good idea....
I had the same problem...
My clutch squeeled like a stuck pig..
I called ECS and they said it was normal...Doug asked me if I had in fact hard launched the car which I hadn't...
His recommendation ??
Put it in 4th...rev it up to 4000 rpms and let it slip until the car almost stalls....
No more squeeling after that....clutch is quiet as a mouse now !!
Lesson to be learned I guess is not to drive your vette like a ***** !!!
