Yes, a friend with a 2002 Z06 had a full column lockup, followed by a flatbed tow for (next day) service since it happened on a Sunday. He was out of town, away from home with a girl he was trying to impress with his new car. (she was not impressed BTW) If you have a 97-02 Corvette you can lock up. The only exceptions are the 01-02 A4s. :(

Dang it!!!! Got a 2K2 M6 coupe a couple weeks ago and had lulled myself into thinking the problem was solved.
Oh well, good thing I bought the CLB on special a few weeks ago "just in case". Better get to work installing it. :D
The CLB works on all 97-01s. I have an 01 with the CLB and it works fine. I am sure that it will work on a 02 as well but I don't know of anyone currently that has installed it. There is a problem I understand with the 98 & 99s that have a GM CL recall installed that was designed to fix the CL problem but doesn't. Those with the GM recall fix can not install the after market bypass AND the CL will sometime still fail. The recommendation is DO NOT install the GM CL recall and to install the CLB module to prevent a CL event.

I thought I read earlier that the the GM CL fixed used the same circuitry as the late '01 and '02 models used as shipped, and that's why the CLB wouldn't work.
I thought I read that from the guy that designed the CLB.
But! I could have easily been drinking too much Jack that day. ;)

When I ordered the CLB, I specifically told them it was for an '02 and they said "No problem".
I had my car at the dealership and my service advisor was hellbent on perfroming a "recall" on my car. I told her that she had better not touch my CLB!!! She was like "the issue has been fixed, you should have the recall performed.". I was like "yeah right, not what I hear..."
Anyways, after me explicitely stating that the recall was not to be performed, she complied and I got it back a few days later, CLB still working perfectly :D
