Yep, I had to replace the Driver's side HVAC actuator on my dual zone climate control. If you check your codes, I'll bet you'll have some HVAC codes, probably B0441 or B0446. Try clearing the codes, you'll hear the actuators recalibrate. That may take care of the problem. You can also try removing fuses 18 and 27 for a few minutes.
anyone had a problem with one side of their air on their c-5 going out? The passenger is working fine.
Did you recently replace your battery or have a reason to disconnect your battery. A while back I was installing my sound system and the battery died and it caused the actuators to be out of sync.
What worked for me was to disconnect the battery and let it sit over night and in the morning when I reconnected the batery all was fine the ac blew through both sides. I would reccomend trying this first as an inexpensive starting point. Nothing to lose.
Good luck

The most common reason when the pass cool and drivers side warm, is low on freon. When the drivers side cool and pass hot is usually a door problem. Check and clear any codes first, then check and add about 1/2 can of 134 - cheap, quick and easy to do yourself -
Old issue. Lots of posts about AC problem. Just seems to be a defect with these cars. There are also a few solutions. Personally, mine now works as long as I just keep it on the coldest, and not fiddle with the dual control, just the fan. Even then sometimes it flips out and I have to reset the thing.
Live with it.
See if you have any codes and reset the codes. (press and hold options and then press fuel 4 times..that will take you into the codes)
When you do that you will hear the actuators moving again. Also make sure the AC is filled up to spec. If not, it wont work. Then before you start the AC, make sure it is on manual, 60 degrees. You can play with the fan, just dont put it on auto or change the temp. Sometimes it actually works on auto, then again sometimes it just goes nuts with cold air/hot air thing.
I tried the actuator recalibration trick as well. Unfortunately the new actuators have fewer gears, and works a bit differently than the older types. Newer ones have clips that hold the case together, older type has screws. Hard to explain, but if you see them next to each other, you will know what I mean about how they work differently.
My luck I bought the newer type...and recalibration does not seem to work. I also got an older type off ebay...so this is an upcoming project.
