Yeh!
Finally, motor is on the DTS dyno. We fired it up for the first time today.
Ran it to break in the cam.
But, we found it was running too lean. This was only at idle up to 2000 rpm. We felt uncomfortable so we pulled the carbs.
We decided to go with bigger carbs. So two new 750's built for 8-71 blower is on its way. We found out my old carbs were built for a SB Chevy. Damn, I hate SB.....just kidding :D
Other than that, it was awesome to hear it for the first time.
We'll install the new carbs once they arrive and we'll break the motor in a little more then some dyno pulls.
Luckily, I'll be going to the NHRA drag race this weekend to take my mind off the 540 until the carbs arrive.
Anyway, here's a small, low quality video of the motor on the dyno. It was only revving at around 1500 rpm. We didn't want to go more because it was running lean.
I'm working on high res videos and I'll be posting it soon, if you are interested.
