It seems that everyone has a variety of wheel/tire combinations for his/her car. After some very simple mods, my runflats aren't performing as well as I would like. The tires are relatively new, yet with t/c off, will spin a good bit on WOT acceleration and will chirp on the first 2 shifts (again under WOT conditions). My first quarter mile experience was hampered by poor traction. I will be eventually adding a better differential (3.42), torque converter (SY3500), headers, and maybe a head/cam package. I'm sure 400 rwhp and runflats wouldn't work out too well. When the runflats are exhausted, I plan to upgrade both the wheels and tires. I'm looking for ideas on sizes based on experience.
Thanks,
How about 265/35/18F 295/30/18R Any thoughts?
Does size differential matter from front to rear? Everyone seems to have different setups. I'm looking for a size combo for an "eventual" 400 rwhp toy. :D
I just ordered Toyo T1-S in 285/40/18 and 255/45/17 for my stock rims.
As for a tire to support 400HP. I had a Saleen S351 with Nitto 295 in the back.
The RWHP was 450 and 1st and 2nd gear would smoke the tires with ease. I would step up to 315's on a 11" rim. I have these now and traction is great.
