I researched all the other listings and can't narrow down!
Put a red top in 18 months ago, ran fine, kid left radar detector plugged into cig lighter and drained the battery. Replaced with a new red top and battery loses 2-3 volts in a matter of minutes and complains of low voltage, recharge and checked codes - B2587/2592 - steering lock motor complaining, B2282 - LCDM, 2605 - SCM (seat control).
Not sure if these are the result of the low voltage or if one is causing the drain!
Car turned over and ran fine, can it be another bad redtop?
My New Red Top went 10 months & then one day wouldn't hold a charge (like yours is doing). I now have a Yellow Top. You might check with your Auto Zone/Advance Auto/Napa/Battery Store & have them test it to see if there is more than one milliamp of constaint drain when you shut everything down...these Vettes do have electronics that draw about .8 milliamps most of your "off time".... you also could have a bad relay in your Alternator causing a fast battery drain that is pulling that Red Top down. OR....you just got another BAD ONE. Take it back. Ask for a Yellow Top...better!
Hi--A common failure is the driver's side electric seat adjuster--They go bad and stay ON all the time--draining the battery qiuckly--mine went bad---I simply disconnected the pigtail under the seat and it stopped draining the battery-- You have to re-plug it in to make adjustments to the seat though--no biggie--
