Default LS6 intake

what is the difference in the LS1 intake as compared to the LS6 intake?? What difference in hp? I found a LS6 intake off a 99 trans am for $125. Will this fit on my 2000 corvette? Am I getting a good deal?

I could be wrong, but to my knowledge TAs came with LS1 intake, not the LS6 intake. Unless the owner added the LS6 intake himself, he is probably selling the stock LS1 intake. From what I have seen, true LS6 intakes are going for $250-$350.

I am pretty sure this is a aftermarket LS6.

If that is the case, then $125 is a pretty good deal!

Make sure you verify part number on the LS6 intake before buying.

look for part #s 12561184, or 12573572 found on the side down close to the injector holes. It should have a flat bottom. LS1 intake bottoms are slightly V-shaped.

If its the real deal, then $125.00 is a steal for it.

Probably gain 5-7 rwhp on a stock engine, but will start to shine the more you mod.

I think all ls1 engines 01 and up come with the ls6 intake. I might be wrong. Look at the bottom and if its flat you have a great steal. Good Luck!

Default 10 hp gain..............

GM engineers claim a 10 hp gain to the LS1 with the LS6 intake manifold.
Yes , since 2001 all LS1 use the LS6 intake manifold.

After a certain year, all f-bods got the LS6 intake. LS6 intake will be flat on the bottom. I believe there may be additional casting numbers on the mainfolds (could be wrong); if its number doesn't match, google 'LS6 casting number' and see if there are any others. If the manifold has the EGR port (near the TB), I'd pass and get one without it.
