Default Steering wheel squeek.

When I turn my steering wheel I hear a noise in front lower part under dash. I remember a thread that showed a nylon bushing that you could oil to eliminate noise. I do not see where bushing is and I can not find thread that had info. Can someone help me out with this ?

There's a brief post under the tech tips:

The pic isn't very good but I think once you look under the dash you'll see what it shows.

I too have the creaking noise from my steering column. The picture in the link does not explain how to get to the part that needs to be lubricated. Any moe info?

Does anyone have a better picture or description of how to lube this bearing? My 98 is making some noise but only when the car is moving slowly during parking maneuvers.

Yes I think it's the "donut" sensor for the steering wheel alignment...can't miss it when you look.

How do you get to the dounut sensor? Is it visible from underneath the dash, or do you have to take parts off to get to it?

look under dash and down towards the floor at the end of the steering rod you'll see a white nylon donut looking sensor... no need to take it apart..
