Default Engine Misfire

I've experienced a rough running engine twice now in the past couple of weeks. Both times were after the car had been driven then parked for perhaps an hour. At restart the idle was normal and smooth at 750/775 rpm. But as soon as I started to drive away, the engine started to seriouisly misfire during normal (no hot *******) acceleration until approximately 2000/2100 rpm. At that point the misfire disappeared but came back after shifting and the RPM dropped under 2000. Everything returned to normal after driving about a mile.

No codes/messages on the DIC. The only mods (2 yrs back) are; disabled column lock and a CAGS by-pass. Has anyone had a similar experience or any advice/ideas on a cause? I’ll be taking it in to the dealer, but would like to be armed with as much info as possible when I do.

May be time for some new plug wires. Could be a broken plug, but you dont have headers so I don't think one would just break. I needed a new 02 sensor and didn't throw any codes, but I think that was because of my tune. I would think plug wires.

Could be something as simple as a loose plug wire.

"Everything returned to normal after driving about a mile."
So not a single misfire after a mile? Not trying to be a smart butt. Check for loose wires. Usually plug, plug wires are constant misfire under engine load.

It seems you may have several issues at hand from electrical to fuel.
Can you give some more info?
No codes/messages on the DIC.
Am i to understand that you tried to retrieve the codes or where you just looking for a message?
An engine misfire should through a code.
Famous saying I learned if it doesn't throw a code and there is a problem must be mechanical. Chance a bad injector,Fuel Pressure, coil pack, even a slim chance a lifter bleeding down.

Well good luck and let us know what the dealerships says.
