Default No start or no comm, see inside

While driving the car two weeks ago over a bump at 35 mph the engine went dead, after shifting into neutral it started right up and ran ok. I thought that a loose wire was the logical cause of the engine stalling but didn't investigate further. Last Friday the car would crank fast but not start, codes for the computers said no comm and odd stuff like backup lamp circuit failure or horn circuit failure codes came up. Clearing codes did not allow the engine to start. I disconnected the positive cable to the battery then reconnected it and the engine started but stalled as soon as the car accelerated so it was towed home. The car has a digital fuel pressure gage that showed low pressure or normal pressure but normal pressure didn't mean that the engine would start. After checking all the fuses I discovered the problem, the nut on the B+ stud was loose. The B+ connection is where all the + battery power wires are connected and is located under the fuse/ relay cover next to the battery, see where all the large red wires are bolted together. Once the nut was tightened the car started right up and after the codes were cleared none returned. I would recommend checking the wires on the B+ connection to make sure they are tight if you have a no start, no comm or stalling condition.

Check the Bill Curlee sticky at the top of the C5 Tech section. Grounds are a problem that you must stay on top of (ie: keep them clean & tight)

You're right, on page 15 of that thread there is a line about the B+ terminal being clean and tight. Now it will come up in a search.
