Headlight Motor Help
Driver side (Left side) Headlight flips up and down 3 times when turned off, then pops back up. I have read several Forums with trying to fix this problem. I replaced the plastic actuator and that did not work, the bracket kept going around and cut into the plastic. Thought that that would be a quick fix.
The gear could be the problem, but then why would the the light even go up and down if the gear was stripped?
The motor is working, so that is not the problem.
When I manually move it up and down, it goes half way then "skips". At this point I can move the headlight assembly up and down and it is loose. It appears the bracket is loose, but it looks like the bolt goes into the gear, so at this point would I assume the gear is pertially stripped? Even so, this does not explain to me why the headlight goes around then pops up and stays up half way.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
