z06 exhaust same as c5
Hey Guys,
Friend has a 01 z06 exhaust from the manifolds back....NO TI mufflers. He said it is 3" pipes? Is it the same as mine or did the z06 have larger pipes?

Only the section from the midpipe back is Ti. The midpipe is still stainless. If none of it is Ti then it's a good bet that it is NOT a Z06 exhaust. Can't comment on the diameter, it is my understanding that it is the same... but that is an assumption.

It shouldn't be the same as your 99. I believe all 01's and up (or was it '02?) had the same exhaust manifolds, cats and H-pipe; both Z06 and Coupes. Before that (definitely including 99), the exhaust manifolds were different, and they ended at a different length. Therefore, if you have a 99 and want to go with Z06 exhaust, you have to change out the exhaust manifolds as well as the H-pipe. You can't mix and match. The catback, on the other hand can be switched out independently.

thanks guys for all of your input.
i have a dent in one of my pipes when i botmed out once and thought i could just cahnge it out. Looks like i will leav well enough alone.
