Default Tire pressure message stays on

Can someone help me out here? I have a 98 C5. Last night I got on it hard from a dead stop. When I let off and begin crusing the check tire pressure gage came on. I check the pressure and they are all ok. The message remains. I can hit the reset button several times and the message dissappears and the normal function returns. When i shut the car off and restart, the check tire pressure-service soon comes on again. Thanks for any help. Mike

Do you know how long the sensors (in each wheel) have been in the car? From what I've learned - those sensors don't last forever.
Perhaps you have a faulty sensor?

I'm not familiar with the sensors myself - but there's gotta be a way to check each one individually to see which one is not functioning properly (if that were the case).

I have an 01, my right front sensor reads 13 PSI when there is 35 PSI in the tire.

Can the sensor be cleaned or replaced?

I guess I will replace the sensors. I have 90,000 miles on the car and they may be ready for a change. Thanks all.

Strange symptoms. Normally if one sensor goes out you'd get XXX on that corner. Unusual for all four to quit at the same time. The sensors transmit to a receiver which is shared with the key fob transmitters. Are they still working. If not it could be a receiver snag.

All that said, with 90k it could be the batteries as their life is about 5-7 years. Just unusual.

BTW, fill out your profile. That way members can give you advice specific to your car.
