Hey guys. I was thinking of purchasing a new throttle body for my 1999 FRC. I have halltech air induction system. I also have magnaflow SS exhaust with high flow cats and dynomaxx ss headers. So I was wondering if buying a new bigger throttle body will help in performance any or is it a waste of money. Also what is the biggest TB you can run with a stock intake and what brand would u recommend. THANKS

Hi,

I've never actually changed one out. So take my words for what they are worth. The stock throttlebody is good for a substancial amount of horsepower. More than enough for a stock LS1 with bolt ons. Unless you are running FI or heads and cam, there really is no point to installing a larger throttlebody. The larger one may actually slow your car down except at the higher rpm ranges.

Just my opinion.

Nope, out riding in the car.

Waste of money. Better money spent, pick up a used one and send it to Mark Shaner to be ported. You will only pick up a few hp, but the throttle response will be snapier.

Keep the stocker, if you are going to do anything have it ported by Shaner
