Default Intake Manifold upgrade and advice.

Building up my Stock LS1, and looking for inexpensive mods that I can do myself little by little. Soon will be a set of long tubes and new exhaust (I am thinking B&B PRT series), which someone else will be installing for me.

I have been looking at new Manifolds and throttle bodies but have run into some questions.

1) I read (or someone told me) that some of the 2001's actually have either the LS6 block or manifolds in them...is this true, and if so, how do I find out?

2) I know an LS6 mani will basically bolt onto my LS1, but what about an LS2? And if so, which one would be the best to go with?

3) With changing out the mani, will I need to change anything else out with it? Injectors, Fuel Rails (besides just the normal gaskets and such)?

4) I was going to have the car retuned after the header/exhaust install. Would I need to do it again after I installed the mani and throttle body, or can it wait until I do a pulley, cam switch?

All 2001+ LS1's have LS6 intake Manifolds on them, so if yoru vette is a 2001+ there is no reason to upgrade you intake manifold until you install some serious mods.

The LS2 intake is a downgrade to the LS6 intake.

The only thing youll need to change if you dont have an LS6 intake now (1997-2000 Vette) is teh coolant lines under the manifold, you can either change them to the LS6 style or grind some fins of the bottom of the new intake.

Cross it half way off

A ported throttle body will give a few hp (maybe 5) but will definitely improve your throttle response. Mark Shaner does a beautiful job on these.
