Default Quick Z06 3:42 Question

Getting ready to plunk down a grand on a new Z06 rearend.

I did the search thing and I'm 99.9% sure that this part will bolt on the back of an A4 trans------but I just wanted to get a definite "for sure" from the forum.

Thanks in advance guys

yes it will, but why use a stock Z06 rear. practically the same as a coupe or any other. if you are spending that much, why dont you get one from RPM for a little more?

The Z06 rear will work perfect. Unless you are building a race car, I wouldn't see the need for a built rear end by RPM or DTE. I would save the money to spend on something else.

See it as an investment. A DTE rear will last a lot longer and if you do future mods you'll already have a bulletproof rearend to go with it. When you get it, turn your traction control off!! Have fun

if you're not a racer.

don't forget to transfer over the "seal plate"... as the new carrier will not come with one.

The DTE stage 1 rear diff cost $1799 which is close to double a new Z06 rear diff. The weak link of the rear diffs from what I have read is actually the cases. They do not fair well if the car wheel hops at all. Now a DTE rear diff brace will help to solve the stress put on the case and would be a good precaution if the car was going to be drag raced or even driven hard on a regular basis.

Our Stage 1 C5 IRS Differential as an exchange is $1299, not $1799.

Best Regards,

Sorry for the misquote. I sold you guys my old 2.73 rear diff. It was a pleasure doing business with you. At that little difference in price from a new Z06 rear would have to say it would probably be better to go with a DTE rear.
