Default Stainless Works header problem

I have the long tube headers, installed by DTE with my h/c package in 2003, to date my vette only has 29K miles on it. Both the right and left headers are leaking exhaust between the collector and the flange. I love the sound and performance of the package but concerned since exhaust fumes are recirculating within the cabin when my a/c is on, the car is undrivable without the top down and a/c off. SW will reweld them for free but that leaves me with having the shop take them off and reinstall them since the leak can't be welded on the top part of the header, the floor board is too close to get the head of the welder in. The car is going back to DTE in mid October, but I thought I would make a post to see if any other member has had a similar problem with more favorable results than removing the headers from the car.
Thanks.

Thanks.
I've had Stainless Works headers for over 50K with no problem whatsoever.

I've found that the SW people are really good with service. Check with Al at SW and see if they will remove the headers, weld them and reinstall at their factory in Ohio. You're not very far from them.

This can cause alot of other problems other then just the smell.

Any exhaust leak near your 02 sensors can cause them to read incorrectly, which will throw your fuel trims off and cause your engine to run poorly.
