I am doing my h/c full tear down and install starting Sat morning. So I had a dyno test done before to log changes. This was done on a SuperFlow dyno which has the lowest hp ratings of all the dynos. We were able to get 298.5 hp and 308.2 torque total. My car is not going to be a dyno queen, I wanted real world numbers. Below is my graph:
And a pic of the ride we are about to tear apart!!!
what in the world happened at 4500 rpm?Do you have an automatic?
Yup A4, seems like some slipping. It actually sounded like a VTEC when the cams shift, real weird. Might go with a new torque conv after the engine is done.

I don't think it was slipping.I believe the person who was behind the wheel gunned the pedal either too early or too fast which caused it to shift down a gear.

No shifting at all. We ran it in 3rd for all runs and did a very slow roll on. I can show you run 1 where it shifted and the chart was all over the place. This run was very smooth, as was run 2 and both had the same weird pattern at that same spot but with no shifting at all.
My guess is torque management or knock kicking in....that dip sure looks like it could be tuned out to give you more power in your stock configuration.
