I've got this little problem... after I drive my car for a little bit, I can smell something that smells like burnt plastic. At first I thought it was my tires but I ended up getting new ones thinking that might fix it but I still keep smelling it. :( I tried looking for the source of the smell and it smells like it's coming from the hood liner, but yet i'm not quite that sure. If anyone has any suggestions i'd appreciate it!
Have you opened your hood while the engine was still hot? Check everything under the hood that may contact the block, heads or radiator. Also, look for any wires that have dark areas in the jacket color.

Re: Burnt plastic smell? HELP! (robiferretti)
Check under the car on your exhaust pipes/cats..you probably picked up a some plastic FOD (a bag or something) stuff like that just has to touch your exhaust and it sticks and shrinks right onto the hot plumbing under there, I'll bet most of it has burnt off so you really will need to look closely... when the car / exhaust is cold you might be able to scrape the remainder of it off... or you can just wait and eventually it will all burn off... I had this same problem the first week I owned my car!! Good luck!
Thanks guys!! I think I figured out what it was.. it was some sort of plastic that was stuck to my pipes down below... I scraped what I could off and no problems so far ;)
