Help with strange side mirror memory problem
Have had this problem off and on for a year now. I have the memory feature on my 01 Z06. It is now happening everytime I start the car.
I have the driver's mirror set to where I want it to be on all three memory settings. Turn off the car - wait for a bit (just as if I left the vehicle) and the mirror moves to another position. Sometimes higher, sometimes lower.
When I took it to the dealer a few months ago they said they could not duplicate the problem.
Any ideas how I can fix this? The mirrors were taken off of the car at one point to be repainted and it seemed to have started after that

That happened to my '99 as well. They place replaced my passenger's side mirror and its never been quite right since. Its almost like the memory for the position doesn't quite get set correctly or the feedback isn't there. Never any codes from the LDCM though.

that happens to my driver side mirror too. Its soo annoying. I reset it and store it in all the memory settings every time it happens. And then randomly sometimes when I unlock the car door with the remote I see it and hear it shifting. Its freakin wierd. But hey, thats the only problem i have so i just take it with a grain of salt.

Similar problems/ tech II
I can tell you that you need a tech II at least that was what I was told. I had my driver mirror busted off and to have it replaced/repainted. It took me a while to notice that the mirror would go out of adjustment. I finally got fed up with it and took it to my dealer. I was told by the tech that he needed to use the Tech II to do a function test on the mirror, and do a relearn for the mirror positioning. Well call it coincidence, but I needed a new mirror motor kit.There are positioning sensors in the motor.
Needless to say problem fixed mirror does not loose memory or have to be repositioned after driver change

I have this same problem with my '04 Olds Bravada. I have taken it to two different Dealers and they reflashed the PC. The problem is still there . It does not happen as much as it use to but it still happens.

I have this on both mirrors virtually everytime I get in the car for the past two years or so - very frustrating and sometimes dangerous when I forget to adjust them everytime I get in). All the other memory settings retain but the mirrors.

Here's been my experience on my '00 coupe. Yes the mirror did its own thing until the battery died over a winter. Then that spring and onward no problem. But if you move the mirror the problem starts all over again. I'm the only one to drive the car so the mirror rarely gets moved. Disconnect the battery and leave it off a while; see if that helps.
