99 FRC-bought 2 months ago, finally got a chance to check the undermeath out thoroughly, found drops of oil on the drain plug, some light oil film on bottom of pan, I assume from the drops getting blown around. Car has only 15k miles on it, dont understand why this plug would leak? It is tight...anyone else experience this?
Recommend removing the drain plug and inspecting the drain plug seal gasket (plastic ring on the drain plug ) and the pan seating surface. If you find the plastic ring damaged, recommend purchasing a new magnetic drain plug from the dealer and then installing the plug at the correct torque.
That should fix it.

Thanks Bill...I was wondering if there was a gasket there, dont recall seeing it. Does dealer include this with new plug?
the GM plug will have a built in oring in it, I would guess the front crank seal is weaping a bit, most of the early grey seals seem to cut a groove in the crank pulley

I'll have to check that, but last time I looked I could not find any oil OTHER than the plug area.
