Default bad experience turned good. Holy COW

About a month or so ago I started a post about my bad experience at carlise. I had alot of people come on and talk about the tuning prices and who was bad and who was good. I never said who the tuner was, but I got about four P.M. guessing and most was wrong. Everyone loved *** and told me to go with them. My plans where to do just that, but I got a p.m. from Chuck @ Corvettes of Westchester. His P.M. was about the situation at carlise. For what ever reason I liked the way he wrote the p.m. and it made me feel alittle better. He then called me and better explained what went down. At this time I had already called *** but never got a hold of anyone on the phone. I was not mad about the phone situation but I sent a p.m. to a local tuner. He never got back to me. I did some research on the forum and saw good things about Chuck. I then arranged to go see him and get a tune. The day before I had a problem with the car and I could not go. This man helped for 3weeks and about 20 different phone calls fix my problem. The next day I drove 5 hours to NY and got it done. At First I thought he may have been given me extra attention because of the problem, but while I was there he did the same thing for three other people over the phone. Also while I was there he had customer that had work done at another big name tuner. The customer was not happy with there work, he loved the tune that Chuck did for him. Let me say what I liked the most about what he did. He asked me if I had HUD and I said yea, he said that he was going to give me a shift light. He asked if I still had the skip shift, I said yea. Well he took my skip shift out, and now the skip shift is a shift light. I love that thing and I had no idea what he meant about given me a shift light. He made the low temp fans come on and now my car stays under 200degrees. Now lets talk about the tune its self. I don't like to tell if a car is faster by seat of the pants feel, but yes it does feel faster. I will be at the track this Friday and will have the final verdict. My overall experience was great. He felt more like a friend than someone doing service for me. I am a salesmanager at a Motorcycle shop and I know what customer service means to customers.

I recall a few weeks ago that someone complained about a tune w/o identifying the vendor (may have been you?) and many members made sarcastic insinuating comments inferring they "knew" it was Chuck Cow.
As I recall from that previous discussion, the poster finally stated it was not him but someone else...but, the damage was already done with a few people jumping to conclusions from limited information and damning someone with no substantial proof.
In any event, it's always good to hear about a vendor who goes out of their way to help enthusiasts.
It's to bad that most people only listen to the bad news when there's plenty of good news out there...

I met Chuck at the BloomingtonGOLD show in the Chicago area. He tuned my C6 at the show. After a couple days I had a little trouble with tune and called Chuck. He was very helpfull and let me know that he stands behind his work and he will fix it.

I was about to send him the computer and have him look at it, but I decided to drive out to NY and have some mods done by Chuck. Many happy CoW customers on the Forum were boasting about the Chuck CoW 4.10s. So I had to have them too.

I contacted Chuck and set up an appointment. I also asked him what else I could do that would give me the power I wanted. Of course, LG Headers. Go for it I told myself. So I did.

So after a 14 hour drive I was at his shop Friday morning. He and his team were ready for me. By the end of the day I had the 4.10 rear, LG Headers, B&M Shifter (why not), tune at stat. He tuned the car and honored his original tune I payed for in June. The Vet is exactly what I wanted and is exactly how Chuck said it would be.

BEST customer service I have ever had, by anyone!

If your even thinking about doing mods you better call Chuck CoW. (No I'm not working on commission, just a very happy customer)

Glad to see you had a good experience with Chuck. It is very hard to find a shop where the owner treats you like a friend instead of just another customer that came walking through the door. He takes the time to listen to everything you have to say and explains everything in detail about what he will be doing before he touches your car. He also stands behind his work 110%. Enjoy your Chuck mods! and best of luck with your ride

Skip shift/shift light? That IS cool. Does that really work? I'm tempted to mod the gauge face and cut it open to allow more light through instead of seeing the 1 to 4 if it could be used as a shift light.

Actually, there is a hidden shift light in the HEADS UP DISPLAY....

As kind of a cool perk, I turn on the shift light built into the HUD display....I can turn it on whenever you like... GM defaults it to come on at like 12,000 RPM....silly.

Additionally, to simplify shift light installation, I can turn on an output pin of the pcm to trigger an aftermarket shift light so that you have the most accurate light possible tied directly to the PCM's RPM system.

It's cool..

If you've noticed most of my tunes come standard with it... It's not like an autometer LED shift light burning your retina, but....

When I activate the factory shift light in the HUD, it also triggers the "skip shift" 1-4 light on th cluster to illuminate as well.....

Kinda coool..

Too many negative comments. I'm at a loss for words guys. If you have a problem with a vendor, please take it to PM before you call them out on a Public board.
