Default Help! Memory Seat Madness!

Hey guys - I am having a heck of a time with this memory seat stuff. I don't know why it goes to certain positions, when it does. I have an '01. Sometimes, when I first get in it, the seat will bring my 6'2" body so close I feel like I'm in a trash compactor! To make matters worse, sometimes the switch that allows you to bring your seat back doesn't work. Has anyone had these problems before?

first of all make sure that you have your memory setting programme to that remote...

I would clear everything and start from scratch...

as for the switch not bringing you back check the connectors under your seat...

I had a similar problem... When my girlfriend would get i and move the seat up it pulled on a caught wire... this eventually began wearing on the wire...

I fixed the wire problem by making sure it was not caught on anything anymore and we are all good now.

Great recommendations!!

I would also look in the DIC and see if there are any DTC set for the RFA, BCM or SCM. If you have a bunch of U-1000 series DTC's, it means that those modules are shutting down at some period of time during operation. If your 12 VDC battery is weak or marginal, during cold cranking the battery voltage will dip VERY low and thats when the modules drop off line. Once the car starts and runs, there normal again and pass the DTC to HISTORY.

If the RFA has U series codes and shuts down, you will have to RE-SYNC your FOBs a lot.

If the SCM has U series DTC, you will loose the memory settings and it will default to either a factory default or some off the wall weird setting.

Been there done that.

very interesting! Anyway, how would I go about clearing them altogether so they just stay in the same position?

Hold the mem 1 and 2 button at the same time for about 2-3 seconds they should reset themselves...

Do you mean stop the memory function from operating?? If so, go into options function of the DIC and find memory seat function and turn it OFF.

I recommend figuring out if your having battery issues causing the malfunctions. Check the DTC's and see if that the issue. If thats the case, your eventually going to have more severe issues!

If you have a battery issue and it, it will correct the memory function issue.
