Lightweight battery, race seats, delete the air pump, CCW wheels, aftermarket X pipe, and beyond that you start loosing the streetability of the car.

Z06's are already light!
If you're building a race car go at it, but for the street fogetaboutit.

Replacing parts with lighter CF pieces cost big $ for a few pounds saved. 100 lbs. are worth 1/10 sec.!
Your car would be worth nothing in resale all stripped out, stick a blower on it, and call it a day!

Of Course you could put a super charger or TT setup on your Z!!! It would add weight sure, but the power to weight ratio would be better!!!

take out the radio and speakers, remove the AC condensor.

There is a "sticky" in the C5 General section about weights and measures. About 1/2 down are the weights of many parts/

1)wheels and tires. If you have runflats you need to get just regular radials and a lightweight set of wheels.

Apart from this I would never consider taking anything else out due to resale, unless you plan on keeping he vehicle for tracking/dragging.If you are not planning to do any of these two, there really is no point of you gutting out the car.The z06 isn't fast enough already?

Buy one of these kits and move your drivetrain over.

2400lbs light enough for you?

If you do decide to remove the AC, please go to a shop first and have them suck out all the refrigerant. Besides being eco friendly, that avoids you having any undesireable moments when removing the system.

Removing the stereo components is good for a bit of weight, as is the AIR system if you can get those codes disabled. That won't be enough to drop much time off your dragstrip passes, but it'll help.

Speaking of which - are you a scrawny dude, or more along the lines of someone who doesn't pass up extra trips to the all you can eat buffet? Without getting too personal, a lot of vettes could do with losing 50 pounds off the driver's seat.

Cheers!

If you went 11.0 in bad weather just wait for good weather and you will get your 10 sec slip. No need to reduce weight. If you want to drop a few pounds without going crazy jsut remove the passenger seat and front sway bar.
