Pre 01 Exhaust Note Bolder?
For those that have owned or heard both, is the 01/02 Exhaust note more muted than the previous C 5's? Which in turn is going to make a Cat Back system sound a little tamer> Yes?/No? Comments. Thanks. Nick :seeya

I thought the same thing, but I thought it might have been in my head. It might be the difference in the cats though, 97-99 has one and I believe 2000+ has two.

I was told that an exhaust change was made on the 1999 and 2000s to make them different than the 1997 and 1998s. They do sound different. The 1999s and 2000s are louder and have more rumble. On all 2001s, precats were added (some 2000's also had precats). Cars with precats will have milder exhausts. Adding an aftermarket system will help, but they will still be quieter (if you leave the precats on) than a 1997-2000 with aftermarket exhausts.
