I just had Goodyear put in some new tire sensors. They got to the stage where it said Tire training but would go no farther. It wouldn't go to Learn front left etc. They couldn't use the meter or whatever it is to program the sensors so the service notice is still blinking. Anyone have an opinion as to why they couldn't get the job done? Mike
Not a strong eneough magnet and/or they werent using a magnet at all because like the guy said above they are idiots. Plus if they didnt know what they were doing they could have broke the sensor upon installing the tires, its not hard to do.

Did they install the correct ones...?
It would seem to me that magnet strength would not matter it the DIC would not go into the mode that said learn front left...
Does your key fob work? It uses the same receiver as the TPM’s. The correct TPM’s installed? There are 1997- 2000 sensors and 2001 – 2004 sensors. The special meter is nothing more than a contoured magnet. Most any magnet will work, I use a toolbox magnet on a stick type. It’s not the size of the magnet but how you use it. :o
Near the top of the page is a dark brown /red band .... 2nd item from the left says "User CP" ... click on that and then on the next page select from the menu on the left ... "EDIT PROFILE"
No my fob does not work. I just bought the car in Jan. Really am a rookie. Mike
OK ... first follow the steps in the link I posted above to put the car into TPM Training Mode .... can you get to the point where it says "Train LF tire" ????
It will go into tire training mode, but no farther.
OK .... now that it says "Train LF tire" take a LARGE magnet and hold it over/at the air valve on the front left tire..... after a few seconds the horn should honk and the DIC display will tell you which tire to go to next .....
My invoice from Mid America motorworks says 97-00 sensor low tire pressure
Those are the right ones .. see ... your profile says you have a 98 ... pretty cool ... huh ... ???
If you don't have a magnet to train the tires ... try training the key fobs ... instructions are in your owner's manual ... If you don't have a manual I can point you to a PDF version that you can look at and even print if you need to.
I love the car, just hope things like this don't keep happening. I am going to Phoenix Thursday for a week then to Vegas for a week. Probably get to it when I get back. I appreciate all the help from everyone. Mike
The guy at goodyear tried that but it wouldn't honk. I will mess with it some tomorrow, then get at it when I get back to IL. from out west in 2 weeks. Thanks Mike
