Default difference in kooks sizes?

Is there a real difference in the kooks longtubes 1 3/4 & 1 7/8 sizes? Does anyone gain more with one size? Which would you go with?

I was told when buying before that go with 1-3/4" on a stock motor and only go with 1-7/8 with larger displacement motors.

Generally the rule of thumb is 1 & 3/4" under 400cid, 1 & 7/8" over 400cid or Forced Induction.

But there are of course exceptions. If its a street cruiser only I would stick to the above rule of thumb. But even on stock displacement I would run 1 & 7/8" if it was a drag-strip car. Top-end over mid-range and low-end. For a road racing car something like LG Pro 1 & 3/4" would be great.

Well its mostly a drag strip car. And it will have a cam and nitrous on it right after the header install. So I'm just trying to decide on a size.

Will82 is Correct ,,the 1 &7/8 are gonna be for bigger cube motors . 1 & 3/4 Will work fine with the 346,364,370,383 ,u may not benifit to jump up to the 1 &7/8 size with the 346, with the cam & nitrous on the stock cube motor u will be Fine with the 1 & 3/4 Headers If u have a 402 or bigger i would opt for the 1 & 7/8 inch headers jmo U may actually Lose power Down low If u go with 1 &7/8 on the 346,I am sure someone will Chime in on this, There maybe some Guys on the Forum Running 1 &7/8 Headers on stock cube motor ,I am not ,I am running 1 &3/4 lng tubes & am completely satisified with the Pull It gives in the Upper Rpms,If u are running Supercharger,Then u may benifit from the Bigger headers
