Codes coming back?
Hey folks...I just acquired a 2002 magred vert...love the car but the 'ol familiar gas guage issue cropped up...i'll work through the techron route...my question is, if i reset the codes, will the code keep coming up or will it go away and only comeback if the problem goes away, then comes back? My hope is the codes only appear on a "new" instance of the problem, so that if I reset the codes, my gas guage won't work but at least it doesn't keep telling me I have low fuel and I'll just monitor using the trip odo....am I right?

If you clear the codes, and the problem is "gone" then the car will function normally. Should the PCM decide, at some point in the future, that the fuel level sensor is "stuck" again, it will post a new DTC and will give you the classic "LOW FUEL ... CHECK GAUGES" messages and light, and drop the fuel gauge to EMPTY.
