Anyone ever do this? I don't think its weird although some may consider it so. Was wanting to see if anyone has some pics and preferably on a Torch Red exterior. Couldn't find any in the search
ya i saw that... that's the exact system i would want too... and its even local but don't have the money right now. was just wondering how it would look.
With black powder coated rims, the black exhaust could look awesome. I don't see the point in blacking out the exhaust if you have chrome or polished aluminum rims.
Photo shop the Yellow vette with black rims and exhaust tips and post it. Let's see how it looks.

Exactly what I am going for with my Z06. I have blacked out side markers, am installing black powdercoated wheels, and am looking for a good way to powdercoat or blackout the exhaust tips. Chrome doesn't do anything for me and looks out of place when it's only in one place on the car.
There are some exhaust tip covers offered out there that you could paint or powdercoat black while off the car and then install. that way it wouldn't be permenant either... the problem with them is the tips alone are something like $80 - and it's not worth that kind of money to me.
My mistake, I didn't realize your opinion had to be everyone elses. I have an idea...and this may seem crazy to you....You do what ever the F you think is cool to your car and other people will do the same.
Just like I wouldn't take fashion tips from a guy that lives in a state where Wrangler jeans and 10 gallon hats are "cool", I wouldn't seek car modification advice from there either.
Yellow vette with black rims, tinted windows, blacked out lights and black exhaust sounds cool to me, and I hate the color yellow.
Most would oppose a black PRIMER Z06 with black powder coated rims, tinted windows, with red and black interior but I have seen one and it looked MEAN. As a matter fact, I believe the car belonged to Chris Cornell, from the band SoundGarden. If he only knew to powder coat the exhaust, the car would look complete. The polished exhaust tips throw the balance off.

Look into exhaust header paint. "Flat Black" is common, I just don't know if it will stick well to aluminum or chrome.

man, I think that would be the most bad-a$$ looking car - and keep threatening to do the same with my Z06 except keep with the black inside...
... on a side note too bad two great bands broke apart (soundgarden and rage against the machine) to create one crappy band (audioslave)

TRUE! Notice I didn't write "Audioslave" when referencing Cornell?
The car looked sick! Nothing says "F you" more than a primer Z06 with black rims. I was checking it out at Santa Monica Chevy in CA. It doesn't get much more personalized than that.
I myself have been thinking about doing the primer and black rim thing, but I wished I would have thought of it, before I saw his car.

ok i can't resist the troll... Never did i say everyone's opinion must be mine so please try not to get so offened for someone saying i don't like it. It does not mean hey stupid you will be stupid if you do it ok?
It means that is all.. and now you childishly put down the great State of Texas assuming people wear ten gallon hats and wranglers everywhere and I will try to stop assuming everyone from the granola state, is um fruity.
LOL
yellow-jacket bumble bee corvette weeeee
Hit the brakes....
I never put down the state of Texas, I just put down the sense of style of some it's inhabitants. ...by the way, Texas...THANKS for giving us GWB!

You can't blame a "state" otherwise known as "a political association with effective dominion over a geographic area", for some of it's inhabitants lack of creativity, a narrow outlook or straight up bland taste.
All you uber proud of your "great state" people, must not pay taxes, and you must not have any crime...or your just loyal to your great state because of it's wonderful sense of equality amongst men?
My point still stands, people should do what they want to do with their cars. The opinions of most of us folks on the forum aren't worth the time it takes to type them, but.... the next time someone calls BS on my opinion, I'm going to be a dick.
