The Laptrax looks pretty interesting.
fully agree. I don't understand why it was done this way. check out the laptrax sale right now on their web site. I'm still not 100% certain about it, but it seems too good to pass up.

there is another product out there which I believe programs itself each time you hit the button for any reason, the end result is that you don't have to tell it what mode to start up in, it just remembers what you last used. that is more like what I want. if I remember correctly they were the same price before. Laptrax has a sale now, it seems to be the unit most people use, and it has the ability to clear the DIC message after a few seconds which I don't think the other one has. I can't remember what the other product is though. anyone?

Just buy the Lap Trax, (few $'s), spend 30 minutes to install and be over with it. I myself are in the mature generation and its another thing I don't have to remember. Hated pulling out and giving too much gas and having TC take over and slow me down, when I needed to go faster - too many close calls for such a inexpensive fix.

another 'time' issue is w/ AH gen 1(98.5-00), you have to be stopped to activate 'comp mode', AH2 could activate on the fly

I'm glad you pointed this out. I looked at this gadget a while back but I wasn't paying over $100 for it. The current price is more like and I went ahead and ordered it.

Wow, great price. I am leery of taping into the wiring of the DIC and BCM or I would order one also.

The traction control button would be great for a stealth nitrous setup...
