Please read below.. more info.. Thanks... New fob didnt work..
About 2 weeks ago, my car got to locking unlocking repeatedly, faster than the passive entry.. then then passive would work by unlocking the door then quickly locking it again and finally the fob quit working at all. all this happened in about a ten minute period while I was trying to figure out what was going on.. I then bought new batteries for both fobs, tried to retrain.. cant get them to retrain.. no horn beep.. So I am thinking it is some sort of problem elsewhere as one of my fobs is about brand new.
I checked the ground by the battery all looks to be well.
Side Note - New Red Top battery probably about 8 mos old. I drive the car at least 3 times a week and volts look good by gauge.
Anyone have any other suggestions on what to check?
Thanks in advance..

Sounds like the fob. I am on my forth one for my 99. The original ones stopped working with in four weeks of each other and acted like yours. The third one lasted about four years before it died. I have had no problems with the rest of the system, However I never use the passive mode.
Something simple to try...slide the passive mode switch back and forth a few times then leave it in the off mode. I've had this cause me a problem before. It didn't stop the fob from working though. Then, re-sync them by holding down the open and lock buttons for about 10 seconds. This will re-sync and the horn will beep once.
Got my new fob from Gene, excellent vendor.. anyway.. still wont program.. What else could be wrong? What controls the inside? I thought I read somewhere that it was in the rear somwehere, Is this the only thing it controls is the keyless entry?
