Default Superchips Microtuner 2001

Has anyone installed Superchips Microtuner 2001 on their '01 & have you notice any significant +/- effects.

Have an '01 & installed a Blackwing w/silicon coupler, Corsa Xpipe w/ Corsa Pace car Exhaust Sys. Would the microtuner make necessary adjustments on modifications in a positive way to enhance performance (air/fuel mix, timing, etc.). If not, any recommendations.

I've got the Microtuner on my 2000. I also have the Corsa Indy and Donaldson (a.k.a. Blackwing). I dyno'd with and without the programmer on the same day. The gains were significant. Especially in the low end of the torque curve where you will feel them most. If I had done the runs in the opposite order, the gains would have probably been even better, as subsequent runs of a series of runs on a C5 are typically stronger.

Here's my dyno charts from those runs. I have added headers, 3.42's, and an SY3500 converter since and need to get back and dyno again.

My car ran about a 12.8 in the 1/4 with stock EMT's, 3/4 tank of gas, and at least another 100 lbs of stereo a couple weeks ago.

Forget Superchips and their Microtuner for 2001]. I ordered it.. tried it . They programmed it three time and still couldn't get the program right. The first time it was so bad they programmed the speedo for 4.67 gear ration and the car wouldn't go over 30 mph. I was so upset I drove to Orlando to their facility and they programmed it while I waited. We drove around...better, but still the car was banging the rev limiter at 6000 rpms. They tried again and still the shift points were all screwed up.I was not happy! I gave them every opportunity to fix it...They couldn't!:nodnod:

They are nice people and very accomodateing ,the program is just not ready for the 2001.Go with the Powerloader www.ttspowersystems.comor Ed wright at www.fastchips.com.You will thank me later..Good luck! :chevy

From what I've heard, GM changes their PCM program significantly every two years. 2001 was one such change. Maybe they are just not up to speed with the latest changes in the 2001 model year.

It sounds like you might want to avoid them for the 2001. But remember that they have an immediate turn-around and a satisfaction guarantee. If you aren't happy with the results, simply push a button on the tuner to reload your stock program and send it back for a full refund. How can you go wrong with that option?

If I were you, which I'm not :D, I would give them a try. I know that I am very picky and have been very pleased with the tuner they gave me. It was programmed for the shifts, rev limiter, gears, and performance. And it was done right the first time.

Thanks guys for the helpful info. Yeah, I do know that there were a lot of changes to the 2001's. Think I'll ck out details on the Powerloader that some of you mentioned. Can you give me some info on the +/- factors of this product used on a 2001.

LET THE BUYER BEWARE.. DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY AT SUPERCHIPS!!!!!!!!

Superchips completely screwed me over and left me stuck with their "MicroTuner 2001" that I cannot use. Apparently the "2001" will not program a 2001! They have now changed programmers, rendering mine useless, and now expect me to pay $375 more to upgrade! They quoted me $125 less than a month ago to modify my 2000 program to work in a 2001, including the VIN change. Now they are charging nearly $500 for a programmer and $125 if you want anything but their "canned" program.. Why in hell would you pay over $600 for a Superchips when you can get a powerloader, customized for your mods, for less... and it WORKS!!!!!!

JUST MY .02.. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sent my powerloader in over 3 months ago to be reprogrammed for my mods. I have sent 5 emails and made phone calls with NO results. Good luck if you ever need to have one upgraded. I have a 98 C5 and noticed very little difference when it was powerloaded.
TSS, you should pay attention to the people who already spend money on your product.
signed, frustrated.

I also think the Super Chips customer service sucks.

They fried the computer while on the Dyno. They said to overnight the PCM and Tuner and they would cover the shipping. The shipping came to $100+ and change.

They sent me a check for $35 !!!!!

The tuner didn't show up for a month. Also they state in the add that you can adjust tire sizes etc. WRONG. The only option was turning on the fans early.

I was so disappointed.
