Bought some great GM screens, (kind with the plastic surround), they came with 3M tape, bought not crazy about that since I do use the GM bra, and there are "tabs" for the fog light area which are suppose to get stuffed between the screens and bumper. With the tape there, this wont work. \
Anyone else install these fog light screens other than tape or velcro?
I removed the bumper cover, removed the fog light oe block offs, and attached the GM Z screens like the factory with 2 screws on the bottom; the tape always seems to 'melt' and the screens shift
my thought was to take advantage of the fresh air, the way they were designed

this seems to be what I was looking for, since I want to use the GM bra on trips, (GM bra requires inserting tabs between the screens) but removing the bumper cover? that to me, looks a little overwhelming?

It's a bit of a pain in the a$$ but it can be done without removing the bumper cover.
You can access the fog light surrrounds by removing the 2 panels on the bottom.
Thats how I did mine, and also used 4 screws 2 in the top and 2 in the bottom on each side. You will have to drill holes and use those sheet metal nuts. (I forget what they are called).
I took a utility knife with a new blade. Cut the back of the fog light schoud where the curved section met the flat back part. Then a straigh cut down at the knotch on the inside of the fog light.
took 10 min.,
Then double sided sticky tape for the screens, 10 more mins.
My screens came w/double sided tape already stuck on the screen housings. Since I wanted to be able to remove the screens easily for cleaning, adjusting the fogs or whatever, I removed the double sided tape and cleaned off the tape residue from the housings with alcohol.
From Lowe's I purchased 2 boxes of 2" (1.875"?) black Velcro circles. They come in a small yellow box. One box for each screen. Under $4. a box. Two velcro dots spaced evenly apart on the bottom side of the screen and 2 on the top side.
Once the velcro dots are installed, use 2 sheets of copy paper (or any paper) placed above and below the screen as your pressing the screen into the opening. Then pull out the paper and the screens won't budge.
When removing for cleaning or what ever, I use putty knives (3 or 4 of them) to carefully seperate the velcro and pop out the screen. Easy.
I used the same method on a friends car as well and he thought it was a simple, neat and easy install as well. The hardest part of the install was cleaning the double sided tape off the screens before we started.
I used velcro to install the screens in my 98. They have been in since 2001 without a problem. Put wax paper between the velcro pieces until the screen is in place, then simply slide the wax paper out.
