Default flaher removal help at hazard button?

Ive posted 3 times this week here and so far all have helped.

My 2000 vette flasher on the dash where the emergency hazard flasher is, is intermittent. Sometimes when I put my blinkers on they do nothing. If I smack the dash lightly where the emergency hazard flasher is, they begin to work fine. Can anyone tell me how to get to the flasher which is located behind one of the ac vents without telling me to check fuses ect and a long list? I know it is the flasher and Just need hopefully simple instructions how to get to it. Do I have to take the whole damn radio out ect?
Thanks

I hope somebody knows a short cut, Because the book has you
taking out the center console, upper dash pad. Pics in the book
show you have know choice.

There is no doubt you have to remove center console.

The hazard lamp flasher is integrated into the hazard warning switch. As jirasvet just posted, you do have to remove the instrument panel upper trim pad which is quite involved. You will need to borrow a manual to make it half way easy. Another GM screw up.

No dashpad removal required.. Do a search. Many have successfully removed and replaced the hazard switch by removing the radio to gain access.

Until then, cycle the switch 10 or 20 times (works better than smacking the dash), will usually get you by for another month or two..

Thanks ICUALL. Exactly what I needed. I cant believe they did this crap. The old GM corvettes, camaros ect had the flasher under the damns steering wheel column and took 2 mins in and out! For now I will just press the hazard button in and out 5 times. This seems to unfreeze it for 3 days or so I will definitely save this when I need it. PS what is the HVAC sensor do?

Okay great link http://myweb.cableone.net/kd5fx/HSwitch/HSwitch.htm
How does the nice decorative button with the hazard emblem pop off? None of the pictures show taking it off. All the steps show it
already off .
Thanks
