I have a grinding noise when hard turning left usually. Dealer says, change oil. Ok, now I have the proper oil and 4ounces of
posi-traction oil. Now, is there a drain plug on the rear end to drain the oil out? Or what is the procedure?
Help is appreciated, it will keep me from struggling.
Thank You
Pat
I sure didn"t leave much information. The dealer said the rear end needs to be serviced. It's a 99 C5 with thirty thousand miles. on it.They did say it was comming from the rear end.

Re: Differential Groan (rwpatte)
The differential has both a drain plug & a fill plug. After draining, you fill until the fluid level is even with the bottom edge of the fill plug hole. For correct fill, the car needs to be level, so you'll probably need to get it up on some combination of jackstands, ramps, etc., unless you have access to a lift.
You'll need a metric allen driver for the plugs, I forget which size.
