hey guys - does this thing reset itself when you get the oil changed? I just got the oil changed a week ago, and it still says I only have 30% life. Is that normal?
i tried the reset button and it just gave me ___% which was weird! I am gonna try it again - if that don't work, then out comes the accelorator 3 times!
I just drive the car around after I change it. Its got a flow meter that tells how thick your oil is (dirt and crap in your oil).
No it doesn't. It measures oil temp and time. Read your owners manual. You have to reset the meter by turning the ignition to the on position and pushing the accelerator to the floor 3 times.

It amazes me that we can sift through and actually find gems of knowledge here with all the misinformation amongst it.
You can reset from dash or turn the car to the ACC position and press the gas pedal to the floor 3 times. The second works for all gm vehicles that have been built in the past 10 years or so.
Works after about 10 times on mine try the 3 fast WOT

Done this several times and the damn thing won't reset. It will FINALLY after a lot of holding the reset button.
Tried the 3 times fast accelerator to the floor. WORKS LIKE A CHAMP.
