To those that didn't know...last weeks Corvette Challenge....my performance was WAYY OFF. I borrowed a set of full slicks(26X10Xx16) and had high hopes for mid 11's 'round 117 MPH. I received a pitiful 12.18@110 MPH. Mind you, this was leaving it in "D" as so many like to do...had a full tank of gas as well. Wasn't too sure what to make of that...so I went to town on tuning the car. We found best results testing taking 2 psi of fuel out,and adding 2 degrees of timing(It was at 3 initial, it's now at 5...FP was at 45 now at 43). Well...I was AWARDED mind you on STREET TIRES an immediate 12.51@115.61 "BIG SMILE" 65Z01 and I we're running close in line, So thanks to Dennis K, we jumped right in to Lane 5(left lane of course). Not even 20 minutes went by,and the tech line dood said"You're going again" OK. Forgot to mention I spun a bit on the first run...still shifted a little low...but it was better than leaving it in D obviously by the increase of performance and SOTP. This next run was near perfect.. I controlled wheelspin nicely by gradually getting on the gas with a 1.97 60'(Street tires remember) shifted 1-2 God knows where(tach is funky) and 2-3 felt sweet. Charged the finish line with a 12.196@116.88!! Wooo HOO! I saw the scoreboard light that up with the corner of my eye and was like "YESSSSS!" yelling at the end of the run.
I'll slowly stop rambling here... I haven't been this pleased in a LONG time. I'm not through yet. I do want my mid 11's which now that I know what to do..I'll get there.
It was good to see everyone again, which hopefully I'll bump in to a few of you at Atco or Cecil county.
I just had to post my results which blew my mind. Almost in to the 11's on street tires! I can't wait to hook this thing and slam a mid 11. Oh, the track sure was in good shape today, and congrats to those who also ran well.
