Default Fuel level sensor and sender

Is it possible to replace the fuel level sensor or sender in the right tank without removing the tank? The car is 2004 Z06. The tank system is different on 2003-2004 than earlier models.

Have you tried Techron if your sensor is acting up? Usually fixes it. Use only top tier gas, see toptiergas.com

The sulphur in gas affects the fuel level sensor.

Good luck.

No, on any C5 the fuel tank must be removed to replace the sensor, as it comes out of the top of the tank. As suggested above, try Techron and see if that helps clear the problem.

See past posts including HOW to remove the sending unit and pump.
The PICS are from someone installing another type of fuel pump.

There is a bulletin about recalibrating the PCM for fuel gauge,
http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...ram+the+PCM%29

Here is some more info on sender problems on the "FFS"

You never did say what is actually happening with cars fuel gauge.

The fuel gage can not go up more than half tank. Even with full tank
it drops to empty after some minutes and check gages light comes on together with low fuel on the dic. But after I step at the brake pedal the pointer at the gage goes up to half tank for some minutes and go back to empty again. Even when i stand still and push the brake pedal down the pointer goes up to half tank. See my masage earlier.
