I have a set of stock painted wheels on my 04 coupe, i wanted to know if it were possible to strip and polish them out with good results, they are perfect with no damage, I would geuss I would buy the center part in polish to match, just not sure, any advice here?
Also can I fit a 315 drag radial on the rear?
It is possible, it will take a lot of work though. My buddies and I used to strip motorcycle frames and wheels and polish them. As far as tires go, I have seen people on the forum put 315s on the factory Z wheels.
stripping them is possible but as stated a whole lot of work.
you then would have to have them professionally polished by a wheel polisher @ about $125/wheel. Since polished wheels oxidize you will have to do that every 3-4 years also.
Even GM polished wheels are painted with a clear coat to lock the oxidization out. you could pant them after they are polished but will end up with the same "milky" look that the GM wheels have.
