Default Seat Change! What about electronics?

I'm going to change out the seats in my 99 FRC to something more comfortable, not Corvette seats. What about the electronics? I still want the air bag and seat belt stuff to work. Anyone know the best way to do this? I'm sure people have done this but I must be using the wrong key words in my searches... Thanks in advance for any advice! Uncle Dave

Dave I'm not sutre I'm seeing the link.

The seats sit on the seat rails and those bolt to the floor with bolts front and back of the rail. the only connections are to make the seat adjusters work (bolsters and fore and aft movement).

The seat belt and car air bag functions are independent of the seat.

Are you talking about taking the seat motors off the existing seat and transferring to a new one? If so, that would be quite a job.

If you look at this link it'll show you the guts of the seat when its stripped down:

Thanks for the prompt reply! No, I'm not getting power seats. Even my plain vanilla (uncomfortable) stock seat has a harness with half a dozen or so wires going in to it. I'm thinking there is butt sensor or something so the air bag and the seat belt system know there is a butt there! I sure as heck don't want to disable the air bags! Thanks Dave

Don't believe there is an airbag sensor. I swapped out the driver seat in my 04 and there is no airbag light triggered after doing so. The earlier post was correct, you just need some sort of facility for wiring to the factory belt.

I took another look at the wiring diagram. Theres a link to the telescoping wheel but the only other feeds are for seat adjustment. No butt sensors or links to the seat belts or airbags.

Yup, after looking at the shop manual and under the seat... inspite of like 6 wires going down under the drivers seat... the only thing happening is checking whether the seat belt is buckled or not! I guess it doesn't even care if the passenger is wearing her belt!
