TPIS Header Weld Broken, Anyone Else Have Problems
I was driving down the road the other day and heard this strange "clicking" noise from the engine compartment on the drivers side. After further investigation I found the weld broken on the Air Inlet tube on the drivers side header, on the the second clinder from the front. They have only been on the car 5 months. I haven't been in contact with the vendor yet, I just found it yesterday. I hope the warrenty will cover the fix/replacement. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

There are a lot of unhappy TPIS customers out there with problems like yours.
That´s why I decided not to install them.
We have disussed lot about that about two weeks ago.
They are cheap, but poor quality (My opinion!!).
There are lof of those headers out there that work without problems, but
for me too much that have problems.
If it is a forum vendor you got it from, then I´m sure he will take care of you.

Im having the same problem your having. If I knew this was going to happen I would have spent the extra couple hundred dollars and get the Belangers. Oh well, I dropped an email to the forum vendor I baught them from and will see what he has to say.
Re: TPIS Header Weld Broken, Anyone Else Have Problems (Gus)
I have had no problems with mine and have driven hard for the last 15,000 miles. Of course they could fail tomorrow. If that does occur, it will be back to the Vette Doctor for repair but head and cams will be done before the car leaves NY. I have no regrets as the TPiS woke up the car and makes the Corsa Indy's sound just right (with a Corsa X-over pipe too). If we deceided not to buy anything that some one else had a failure, there would be no Vette owners on this forum. I do not need to go through the list but we all know what I mean. I will add however, my 00 vert has had only the rocking seat failure, twice. I am still very happy esp when I push down on the go pedal. :chevy  :seeya
Re: TPIS Header Weld Broken, Anyone Else Have Problems (Als98C5)
I've brought this up, crappy quality and total lack or customer support by TPIS all this year and generally get a response back by some internet vendor who says, the problem is solved and give your money to them and you'll be happy.
This stinks I know of at least 10 C5s just this years with welds breaking,
guess we should be happy they don't weld on the Bowling Green line
Who cares if the pipes are warrantied count up the green backs to get the long tubed bastards out and back in and the down time till that vendor gets off their butts and gives you another one of their sloppy weld jobs.
This vendor could'nt glue a stamp on, yet go around saying don't use Donaldson airfilters for you lose 20 HP, what BS.
Here is is one year after I told TPIS of their failures and other C5 owners are still getting the same failures as I did last year.
This does **** me off :smash: :U

I've patched mine in several places, including the bracket underneath broke off completely. I'm taking off my air pump and going to take off the air tubes and weld it up. My question is, anybody selling good headers without the air tubes or am I the only one that don't want the air tubes.
If you have any cracking problems with TPIS headers, contact them and have them replaced. I personally understand that they don't cover labor costs to R&R a left side or right side header. TPIS will replace them with a newly revised header.
If the header was made prior to about 8-9 months ago, it is probably one made with their old design. They have since revised the pipes with bends to avoid cracking.
